Only one of a Few

Aye, aye Captain! Hello friends, look who's wearing a skirt today! It's me, Joseff Lopez! :P

First stop, I would like to thank you guys again for the support you all are giving, and for making me inspired always! I promise to bring myself to the next level every time I create something new; yes- I would continue this career, and hold on to this no matter what. And hey, I'm turning 19 in 3 weeks! ;)

Anyhow, the reason why I am wearing a skirt is because... I look sexy! Just kidding. No actually this is an assignment from my Design class at school. We had to do a re-worked garment related to the theme of the clothing line we're making for our final project. The theme my partner and I decided is Grecian Fashion, so it boils down to flowy and drapy garments that made me decide to create an Asymmetrical Skirt! How cute is that! I just love how it gives you that dramatic, flying-skirt effect while walking, especially when the wind blows- oh perfect. :)

It is, life changing.

To everyone who keeps motivating me, appreciating, and complimenting... all those words MEANT a lot to me. I could say it's something that is life changing, because it is affecting me in many ways right now. All these hopes, and dreams - I will carry them with me, and I will do my best to make that happen.

We never know what is yet to come, but I guarantee you that I won't stop dreaming, and I will fly high to achieve the life I want. This would be a life-long journey, together - with you guys. #DREAMBIG
Thank you for supporting, my friends. ♥

*this is a post from my FaceBook page, but I will blog and post a new LookBook photo tomorrow to tell you guys about the amazing week I've had and for the wonderful support all my friends, and the people I know is giving me.
I am beyond happy and proud for all this.

Looking back from where I started, from how I evolved into someone I wasn't expecting to be, from all the overwhelming support I've been getting now - it is really, life changing. :')
Thank you again, from the bottom of my heart.
I am just starting my dream, but it won't happen... I won't be here, without you all. <3

Sincerely,
Joseff Lopez

Keep smiling, keep shining

Hello, hello friends! How's everybody doing? Whew, days fly so fast- could you believe that we're almost at the end of the month of May? But I am happy, and I'm preparing myself because I'm turning a year old in June! HAHA! Going legal now eh? Well kinda means that more responsibility for me, and no more baby moments- but  wait, wait, wait! That doesn't stop there, because this post will be about my little boy-like look for the day!

Yes, people said that I so look like a kid, which I loved! HAHA! Oh how I miss my childhood days- who wouldn't? :)

All the other kids with the pumped up kids- you'd better run, better run

Hola, hola, hola! Well, I told you guys about putting the pictures from the Mixer I did on my next blog but I will keep that for now, and let you guys crave for it! *HINT: You could see it in a book. ;) (*sigh* most of my followers here, have seen that way back last week, so why do I have to keep it as a secret? #fail)

Moving on, I would just like to show you my OUTFIT for the DAY, and how crazy today was! This wasn't taken by my photographer because she's away so, it was taken through my camera! It's fun how I found that frog over the back yard, but underneath it... *eeeks- WORMS! My friend who took it freaked-out and ran away! Oh, I love those situations. HAHA!

So I am wearing an Oriental-Vintage piece from my favourite Vintage store USED Vancouver, and it is because it is my slack-off day (although I am so busy and rushed for projects - ugh, Marketing -.-) I paired it up with a gray slim-fit jeans from Bongo Divisions, and my black slip-on shoes I got from yesstyle.com! How adorable is that? YAY!

However, one thing that makes it stand out, is the D.I.Y Fur fabric that I turned into a scarf! A tie actually, no a necklace... Whatever! It just complements the outfit, especially the round glasses! I was aiming for a very serious-Air bender look, but I don't know what it turned out! HAHA! Let me know what you guys think!

The Fur (monster) meets the Frog. Bow. :P
This just completed my day. So cute, and funky. Rock on! :D

Don't forget to... HYPE the look!

What Makes You Beautiful

What a fun, fun, fun last week of the month of April it has been! :) My very first Styling gig (April 29, 2012) was unbelievable- everything just fell in to the right place! I love it!

Okay, firstly- I would love to welcome May (YAY for May) for the wonderful first week it has given me at school, and for my family.  :)

Moving on, this Styling I did is actually a part of my school's program (John Casablancas Institute of Applied Arts Vancouver), a workshop for the Fashion students to bring their natural, given talent to Style and build their portfolio- and it is called the Mixer. Here, they will pair you up in a team of 5 from the Make-Up and Hair-Styling departments of JCI. As the Stylists' part, we would have to get our model and our photographer. :) However, there is another program in the school called the B.Y.O.B (Build Your Own Book) which is more professional because you will get to team with the experts (professional photographer, model from the JCI agency, etc.). They say that the Mixer is a stepping stone to provide you the skills, and the efficiency to get you ready for the B.Y.O.B, but we'll talk more about that when I get to do it!

There are 3 themes the Mixer wanted us to follow, and they are: The Classic Red Carpet, The HollyWood Diva, and The Rock Star.
These themes are expressed on the way the Stylist and the team sees it- well, who knows what it really looks eh? It all depends on us!

Now, I'm prepping up- sorting out what clothes to use for my model, and the Styling!

PS: It was actually hard for me to look for clothes because I had a female model and WHERE in my closet I could get them, right? But I had a clever idea- since I had some fem-ish clothes- I used them! I also went thrifting and I found a vintage-gy-classic dress for the Red Carpet theme. How amazing is that? :)

Having all that said, this post is (half-ly) about what I wore on that day! HAHA! I brought my friend-photographer with me, so while the team is busy for their make-up and hair styling, we sneaked in outside and took photos for my LookBook! :)

It was a bright Sunny day in Vancouver, and the location of the shoot was in the historical Gastown.

I was wearing a button-up animal printed shirt I got from USED Vintage in Vancouver (I just don't recognize the other animals though. lol There is a bull, yes), a slim-fit Khaki ZARA jeans, a striped-printed black socks, and an Aldo Charcoal Oxfords for my shoes!

I really the love the colour combination of the Navy Blue and Green on the shirt, and how the Khaki colour pants just made the shirt more distinct; as well the fact that the (green) stripes kind of gave me weight had a good matching over-all. And the almond-pointy oxfords, seemed to give the Hipster look I'm aiming for. (and of course, my chocolate-mucho from Starbucks made they day right!)

So this concludes this post! I am happy (and gay) that everything fitted perfectly and how terrific and stunning that day was. Photos from the Styling will be posted this afternoon on another blog post, don't worry! :)

Joseff's LookBook: May the odds be ever in your favour.

Spring has risen,
and Fashion blooms again.
It's about time to re-create, to innovate. The right fit,The right colours,The right YOU.Fashion is an expression.
- SEFFINISTO by Joseff Lopez

Spring Fashion it is! Spring has final come in Vancouver, and the beauty of the city outshines, brighter as ever. I love to see the flowers, the Cherry blossoms, the blue clear sky, the people's smiles, and the warmth embrace of the season makes it all perfect. I wonder if Vancouverites are getting ready for Summer! (well I do :P) Feel the heat!

This week's outfit is related to the Nature and to the movie Hunger Games! I like how my army/camouflage tank top gives off the "tree" feeling and how you connect with it. The colours as well corporate the entire Spring look- not too pastel-ly, but a mix of neutral/bright tones. And look at the gorgeous place we had for this shoot!

This cute aztec pin-bow tie from Topman.com is I think, the cutest tie that I ever got! I wasn't actually expecting that it's pin-nable (making my own vocabulary, I know), because I ordered it online- but the thing is, there wasn't any regret, in fact everyone loves it! Can pull it off by putting it to any blazers or even a button-up!

This thrift blazer (Jones New York) that I got from Value Village is just stunning. I think it could match any top or outfit with the right colour pattern. I'm just so happy that I get to find the best clothing of all in thrift and Vintage stores. Well, it's my hobby now. I love thrift and Vintage! Being Eco-Friendly here! :)

Levi's Jeans? What else could I say? They've got fantastic jeans, fits to your needs, and hey, it lasts long! I'm glad I found this jeans again, after a year! Whew!

Anyone who would protest that I am not the Socks Prince? lol
I love these quirky socks, prints, colours, and all that. <3
(featured blog for my socks collection soon)
Also, that oxfords from Forever 21 lasts really long too. Rain or shine, it didn't stop to give me a fashionable-comfy feeling at all times.

So yes, this is the whole look for my very first Spring collection. I'm afraid I might not going to be able to post LookBook photos this week, but I'll try to insert it with my schedule! Like I really have to right? :P
Fashion school semester 2 starts today!

PS: Forgot to mention about the Hunger Games inspired? Oh well, being a fan boy at the moment. I think it kinda resembles the movie? But whatever, use your imagination please! It's weird that I actually dreamt that I was a part it, and I am number 13? HA!

Love, love! <3

Joseff's LookBook: In Another Life

Firstly, just to clarify things out, I don't smoke! And I will never! :) I just used the cigarette as one of my props to give life on the photo that we're going to shoot.
Watch my intro-video!

"This shoot is unique and interesting because this is the first time I had to look like a 'bad boy' who doesn't seem to care about his life, who don't know the importance of it, and just making himself attached to smoking - and that's the theme of the shoot. That's why in his another life, he would make everything perfect."

"Why do I find this sexy, hot, cute?"... yes, you read that right! Here are some of the comments I got from the very first time I posted my 'wasted' (The One That Got Away) look but re-posted again because I was unsatisfied on the photo that I matched together. However, on the second try - it was worth the change and I gave it a title, 'In Another Life.'

So now, I will show you the complete shoot my photographer, Ms. Bebrenly M. took (if you haven't seen her, you can refer to my recent LookBook column, 'Bright Lights' and check out our picture together!) and found this as her most-favorite shoot that we have done so far! :D

From research and ideas on what poses and look to do, how would the smoke appear on the shots, and more... everything paid off because of the amazing results! :)

Getting ready for the shoot: re-touch!!! :)

And the photo shoot begun! We have decided to put it in black and white to get an emotional approach on the photos; also to get great shots when the fire is burning on the cigarette.

And... done! :D What do you guys think? I'm cool now eh? This would be one of my most memorable shoots I have had - especially lighting up a cigarette that made me not to breathe for like a minute or so, because it makes me cough *ehem :P

Anyhow, don't forget to hype this look on my LookBook! And I'll see you guys around! ;)
