All the other kids with the pumped up kids- you'd better run, better run

Hola, hola, hola! Well, I told you guys about putting the pictures from the Mixer I did on my next blog but I will keep that for now, and let you guys crave for it! *HINT: You could see it in a book. ;) (*sigh* most of my followers here, have seen that way back last week, so why do I have to keep it as a secret? #fail)

Moving on, I would just like to show you my OUTFIT for the DAY, and how crazy today was! This wasn't taken by my photographer because she's away so, it was taken through my camera! It's fun how I found that frog over the back yard, but underneath it... *eeeks- WORMS! My friend who took it freaked-out and ran away! Oh, I love those situations. HAHA!

So I am wearing an Oriental-Vintage piece from my favourite Vintage store USED Vancouver, and it is because it is my slack-off day (although I am so busy and rushed for projects - ugh, Marketing -.-) I paired it up with a gray slim-fit jeans from Bongo Divisions, and my black slip-on shoes I got from yesstyle.com! How adorable is that? YAY!

However, one thing that makes it stand out, is the D.I.Y Fur fabric that I turned into a scarf! A tie actually, no a necklace... Whatever! It just complements the outfit, especially the round glasses! I was aiming for a very serious-Air bender look, but I don't know what it turned out! HAHA! Let me know what you guys think!

The Fur (monster) meets the Frog. Bow. :P
This just completed my day. So cute, and funky. Rock on! :D

Don't forget to... HYPE the look!

What Makes You Beautiful

What a fun, fun, fun last week of the month of April it has been! :) My very first Styling gig (April 29, 2012) was unbelievable- everything just fell in to the right place! I love it!

Okay, firstly- I would love to welcome May (YAY for May) for the wonderful first week it has given me at school, and for my family.  :)

Moving on, this Styling I did is actually a part of my school's program (John Casablancas Institute of Applied Arts Vancouver), a workshop for the Fashion students to bring their natural, given talent to Style and build their portfolio- and it is called the Mixer. Here, they will pair you up in a team of 5 from the Make-Up and Hair-Styling departments of JCI. As the Stylists' part, we would have to get our model and our photographer. :) However, there is another program in the school called the B.Y.O.B (Build Your Own Book) which is more professional because you will get to team with the experts (professional photographer, model from the JCI agency, etc.). They say that the Mixer is a stepping stone to provide you the skills, and the efficiency to get you ready for the B.Y.O.B, but we'll talk more about that when I get to do it!

There are 3 themes the Mixer wanted us to follow, and they are: The Classic Red Carpet, The HollyWood Diva, and The Rock Star.
These themes are expressed on the way the Stylist and the team sees it- well, who knows what it really looks eh? It all depends on us!

Now, I'm prepping up- sorting out what clothes to use for my model, and the Styling!

PS: It was actually hard for me to look for clothes because I had a female model and WHERE in my closet I could get them, right? But I had a clever idea- since I had some fem-ish clothes- I used them! I also went thrifting and I found a vintage-gy-classic dress for the Red Carpet theme. How amazing is that? :)

Having all that said, this post is (half-ly) about what I wore on that day! HAHA! I brought my friend-photographer with me, so while the team is busy for their make-up and hair styling, we sneaked in outside and took photos for my LookBook! :)

It was a bright Sunny day in Vancouver, and the location of the shoot was in the historical Gastown.

I was wearing a button-up animal printed shirt I got from USED Vintage in Vancouver (I just don't recognize the other animals though. lol There is a bull, yes), a slim-fit Khaki ZARA jeans, a striped-printed black socks, and an Aldo Charcoal Oxfords for my shoes!

I really the love the colour combination of the Navy Blue and Green on the shirt, and how the Khaki colour pants just made the shirt more distinct; as well the fact that the (green) stripes kind of gave me weight had a good matching over-all. And the almond-pointy oxfords, seemed to give the Hipster look I'm aiming for. (and of course, my chocolate-mucho from Starbucks made they day right!)

So this concludes this post! I am happy (and gay) that everything fitted perfectly and how terrific and stunning that day was. Photos from the Styling will be posted this afternoon on another blog post, don't worry! :)

BLOGGERS WARDROBE - the Kingdom awaits.

“The world’s first webshop where all items are completely free, but only for an exclusive group – our bloggers” - Bloggers Wardrobe (http://www.bloggerswardrobe.com/).

This is the opportunity I am waiting for. And I believe it's worth the wait. It's my time.

Bloggers Wardrobe, a fashion-monarchy where all bloggers around the globe gather, has opened its doors again for a new set of potential fashionistas to enter their kingdom. This is a wonderful opportunity, not only for me- but for those who aspires to be a part of the top-blogger community to show what they've got and be on top of their own niche. Bloggers Wardrobe will definitely spice up every single blogger to shop in their own exclusive webshop, and get freebies! - one thing that I like about it! :)

BLOGGERS TRIBE/ONLINE SHOP- Bloggers Wardrobe will surely lead your way to the wonderful brands inclined to it. Brands like GAIA by designer Gaia Brandt, Pilgrim (Danish Designs), and Electrolux (appliances) are my favourites. I could see myself wearing their clothing and using their appliances BUT just by looking through them online kills me. :( Well, I do hope that Blogger's Wardrobe will help me get in touch with these brands. YAY!

Here's a breakdown of my thoughts about the brands and what I love about them. <3

GAIA's collections are handmade and mainly consist of one-off pieces done in a smaller number of styles. I like the contrast of silhouettes and quirky details; also the influence of vintage garments, knits, and the splash of colours. In terms of styling, I believe GAIA is a part of me. The way Gaia expresses her designs through art, illusions, poetic pictures, and all that just inspires me big time. There's so much emotion going on in each of every design, and it feels like they are telling a story.

I am an aficionado not just by this brand, but this designer by love from now on.

Love for jewelries? PILGRIM is the place to be. Established in 1983 by the two Danes Annemette Markvad and Thomas Adamsen, Pilgrim never fails to give a quality, world-class product. Each design seem to fit people within their personality. These shining, shimmering jewelries are hand made, hand painted, and assembled by hand- all contributes to the Pilgrim spirit. Their creativity, uniqueness, and passion for what the Pilgrim team is doing make the best out of everything.

From sterling silver to gold, fashionable designs executed perfectly, and the fact that the profits goes into a good cause - donated to Doctors without Borders - Pilgrim won't let you down.

Sample Jewelries:

Silver plated bracelet
Hematite plated ring

In the world of appliances, whom are you going to call? No doubt, it’s ELECTROLUX! In 90 years of leading innovation, designs that are thoughtfully created, and for professional use of appliances - Electrolux is what you need for your home. The products are worth the price, and its high-standard quality- the design, production, development, and the way it connects to me (just by looking and watching infomercials about it) and to the other consumers is amazing.

Electrolux Appliances:

i-Kitchen refrigerator

The sleek-chic refrigerators, espresso machines, vacuum, and cleaners – oh, I just love it.

And that concludes my affection for the brands that supports my next home, the Bloggers Wardrobe. <3

Blogger’s Wardrobe is every bloggers dream (well who would not!) and if ever given a chance to be a part of this, it would just be amazing for an early birthday present for my 19th!

Self proclaimed: The BW's baby - Joseff Lopez. :D

Interaction between the brands, the bloggers, and the people is what I am looking forward with. Very fashion forward, the community for sure I fit in, and I deserve this chance.

This is the opportunity I am waiting for. And I believe it's worth the wait. It's my time.

PS: Thanks for Blogger’s Wardrobe. This post is my comeback for a long while. I’m happy! :) #allnightermode

Styling 101: My Momma Fashionista

Fashion is one way to show our expression to the world. We come up with unique inspirations, innovative styles everyday, which is our own. There's different individuals, different personalities, there is harmony from every person, that is why the fashion world is full of passion, power, and glamour. You should just know where you could fit in, and know what you could do to make yourself stand out among the rest.

One tip is to be proud of yourself and never stop dreaming big and trying new things - explore your capabilities! You can do more than what you think.

Loving life to the fullest, I styled my mom in a very casual-eclectic way. I don't do this to my mom that often and doing this feature of her isn't that easy - I made her say yes because she liked the outfit! AH-HA!

Growing up, my mom is my best companion in the world, she helps me in everything, gives what I want, and loves me for who I am. I love her. And this blog would show a part of me saying, I'm proud and heart my mom - my parents.

Outfit by:
Gray blazer from ZARA
Gray striped-straight cut pants with Khaki belt from Dynamite
Black heels from my Sister
Gray Scarf from Penman's
Black top from Garage

I tried a new style for mom - scarf on top of the other; double scarf. I don't know if this was a trend before or is a trend right now because i haven't seen anything like this in the fashion scene - I'm not saying that Im the original, it's just that an idea came up to me and I never thought it would work out nicely.

A simple coloured top or a top that has some designs or an accessory that could bring the top to the next level would pull out this kind of outfit.
Tip: a glittery or a big statement accessory that fits to the neck line, would work!
Colors are as well one of the factors that give an appeal to the outfit; pick the right ones, and you are good to go!

(In this case, I mix-and-and match gray and black; simple but elegant)

(Mom is just so cute <3)

Styling my mom means a lot to me. I made her day and it made me feel like I achieved something that I couldn't explain. It was a fun styling moment, I had a blast and for sure, I'll do more features like this in the coming days. Got me inspired and I believe I have a future in this. :) Cheers to that!

Update: I'm in the Philippines right now, and it is fun, fun, fun in the sun! I'm enjoying it so much and seeing my friends and relatives makes my vacation so complete. :D
My sister just got married and I'm so happy for her; check my videos on FaceBook and I'll keep you guys posted for more! *I will for sure do a blog about whole trip when I get back to Canada!

Styling 101: Androgyny

Hey peeps! I am introducing a new and fun addition to my blog - STYLING 101. Here, I will feature real people who a simple yet eclectic style to them.

In today's styling 101, I focused on Androgyny*. This is hard to pull off especially when you don't have a specific idea or pieces to put it together. However, I feel the combination of pieces that I have chosen bring the look together fabulously. What do you think?

*Androgyny: neither clearly masculine nor clearly feminine in appearance.

My model for the day is my friend Caira Nicolas. We were in karaoke mode when I got the inspiration that she should be my first model in my new blog addition; the perfect choice!

Her stats are as follows:
Age - 15 years old
Lives in - Vancouver, B.C
Height - 170CM (5'7")
Weight - 123 lbs
Hair color - Black
Skin color - Tan
She loves Asian TV series/movies/music etc.
She is playful, fun, witty.

For her outfit, I combined the pieces you could see in my looks on lookbook.nu/josefflopez :

I love how this outfit turned out, (the fact that this is my favorite) it's amazing. I was jumping out for joy when I see the outfit on her because she doesn't really style but, this brought out the style in her.

I could have done something more to her look, like I could put a cap on her head or did some make-up; however, I decided to just make it simple so people could see her beauty and the edginess of the look.

Here are more photos of her from the photo shoot we did today:
Androgyny look - accomplished! ;)

PS: I had a photo shoot the night after with the same outfit, which you could check out on - http://lookbook.nu/look/2490369-Project-Styling-1-1
